About Rosita

Rosita is a Vancouver-based artist born and raised in Sri Lanka,  who is self-taught, inspired by nature and wildlife. Early exposure to diverse ecosystems and wildlife inspired her lifelong connection to nature. Working primarily in acrylic, oil, and watercolor, she creates detailed, realistic paintings that explore themes of beauty, connection, and conservation.

Her work reflects a desire to capture the essence of wildlife in its natural environment while encouraging viewers to reflect on the importance of preserving it. Rosita has in the last few years completed her Fine Arts at Emily Carr University of Art & Design and has continued her artistic development through mentorship and workshops with the Federation of Canadian Artists.

Background

Born in Sri Lanka. She grew up in Sri Lanka and lived for short periods of time in Los Angeles, Dubai and Doha and moved to Vancouver, BC, Canada in 2009. She loves to travel and enjoys listening to music.
