Anyone can draw?

Drawing and Painting is all about practice.  Learn from your mistakes, analyze and improve.  People are not born with the natural gift of painting (most often being debated by those who are lazy to take a pencil and draw), although I wont argue that some people pick it up faster than others.

The old masters were all amateurs when they started and went through the stages of learning, making mistakes before they mastered it, so to everyone out there…. you have no excuse for not being able to draw and paint 🙂  My next series will be talking about the old Masters.

I would first like to acknowledge the shared, unceded traditional territory of the Katzie, Semiahmoo, Kwantlen and other Coast Salish Peoples on which beautiful land (Surrey, BC) I work, play and learn. I moved to Surrey, British Columbia, Canada from Sri Lanka where I was born and raised -an island in South Asia, located in the Indian Ocean. I enjoy painting and spending time with nature which inspires me to paint a variety of subjects. I firmly believe that Art is a calling and a gift. “My goal is to create art to an audience that connects them to the natural world”. I use different mediums for my paintings - vibrant and bold colours. Thank you for visiting my website and I hope you enjoy my Art I am self-taught and study Art at Emily Carr University, Vancouver
