Atlantic Puffins

During my visit last year to the Elliston Puffin site in New Foundland, I had the opportunity to see these true sea birds in their colonies and had the desire to paint them immediately. The colours of their bill impressed me. What is amazing is that this bird can hold up to 61 fish in its bill and can swim underwater. They are poor fliers and have difficulty becoming airborne and often crashes when landing. They have a striking orange, yellow, and bluish bill and matching bright orange feet.
